These terms govern your use of Yala Media Group's website, browser extension, and any other products or services we operate. Please read them carefully before using our products.
By accessing or using any product, service, or website operated by Yala Media Group LLC ("Yala Media Group," "we," "us," or "our"), including yalamediagroup.com, blog.yalamediagroup.com, and the Yala Gives Browser Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our products or services. If you are using our products on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
These Terms apply in addition to any other agreements you may have with us, such as a nonprofit partner agreement.
Yala Media Group LLC is a technology company incorporated in the State of Georgia, United States. We build digital products designed to generate passive revenue through everyday user behavior — including ad impressions, affiliate commissions, and search revenue — and direct 100% of resulting profits to vetted Muslim and Islamic nonprofit organizations chosen by users.
Yala Media Group is a for-profit limited liability company. We are not a nonprofit organization, a charity, or a fundraising platform. Our giving model operates through the generation of business revenue, a portion of which (after documented operating costs) is disbursed to nonprofit partners. This distinction is important: donations made through Yala products are not tax-deductible charitable contributions made directly by the user — they are profit disbursements made by Yala Media Group to nonprofit partners.
Using Yala products does not constitute a direct charitable donation by you. The giving is generated through advertising and affiliate revenue earned by Yala Media Group and disbursed to nonprofits by us. We make no representation regarding the tax deductibility of any benefit you may receive from using our products.
Yala Media Group generates revenue through three primary mechanisms within the Yala Gives Browser Extension:
Gross revenue from all sources is collected monthly. From this gross revenue, documented operating costs and the developer fee (see Section 4) are deducted. The remaining balance — defined as "profit" — is disbursed in full to nonprofit partner organizations in proportion to user attribution.
Disbursements are made monthly, subject to the minimum disbursement threshold described in Section 3.4. Full disbursement reports are published publicly on our website each month, including organization names, disbursement amounts, and dates.
Users select a nonprofit partner organization at the time of extension installation. Revenue generated by your usage is attributed to your chosen organization. You may change your selected nonprofit at any time; changes take effect at the beginning of the following calendar month to maintain clean monthly accounting.
Organizations with an attributed balance below $25.00 in a given month will have their balance carried forward and accumulated until the threshold is reached. This policy prevents payment processing fees from consuming small disbursement amounts. In the event a nonprofit partner exits the platform, all accumulated balances are disbursed in full regardless of amount.
Revenue generated by user activity — and therefore the profit available for disbursement — varies month to month based on factors including user activity levels, advertising market rates, Amazon purchase behavior, and search query volume. Yala Media Group makes no guarantee of any minimum disbursement amount to any nonprofit partner or user.
All nonprofit organizations listed on the Yala platform are required to provide a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN), an IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter, and a named contact for donation acknowledgments. We verify active 501(c)(3) status against the IRS Tax Exempt Organization database prior to listing any organization. Listing of an organization on our platform does not constitute an endorsement of that organization's mission, activities, or leadership beyond their verified charitable status.
Yala Media Group charges a developer fee against gross monthly revenue prior to calculating distributable profit. This fee is the sole compensation received by the company's founder for time spent developing, maintaining, and operating the platform.
The developer fee is:
By using Yala products, you acknowledge and accept the existence of the developer fee as a component of the giving model.
Yala Media Group grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Yala Gives Browser Extension solely for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to sublicense, resell, or distribute the extension.
You may use the extension to generate giving revenue through normal, good-faith browsing activity. You may not:
We reserve the right to terminate your access to the platform if we detect artificial or fraudulent activity.
The extension is designed to append our Amazon affiliate tag only when no existing affiliate tag is present in the URL. We do not override, replace, or hijack affiliate tags belonging to content creators, publishers, or other third parties. This policy is implemented in the extension's code and is available for review upon request.
The Bing search redirect feature is disclosed at the time of extension installation. By enabling this feature, you consent to having search queries entered in the new tab search bar routed through Bing rather than Google. This feature may be disabled at any time in the extension's settings page. Disabling the search redirect does not affect the new tab ad giving stream or the Amazon affiliate giving stream.
We may update the extension from time to time to fix bugs, improve performance, add features, or comply with platform requirements. Updates may be applied automatically through the Chrome Web Store. Continued use of the extension after an update constitutes your acceptance of any changes.
You may stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. We may suspend or terminate your access to platform features if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your nonprofit's accumulated balance (if any) will be disbursed in accordance with Section 3.4.
To be listed as a nonprofit partner on the Yala platform, an organization must:
Organizations apply through the nonprofit partner application form on our website. Submission of an application does not guarantee listing. We review all applications personally and may request additional documentation. We reserve the right to decline any application at our discretion.
Partner organizations agree to provide a written donation acknowledgment letter for each monthly disbursement received. These letters are retained by Yala Media Group for record-keeping and made available to users upon request. Failure to provide timely acknowledgment letters may result in suspension from the platform.
Yala Media Group reserves the right to remove any organization from the platform at any time, including if the organization loses its 501(c)(3) status, fails to meet our eligibility requirements, or engages in conduct inconsistent with our mission. Upon removal, all accumulated balances will be disbursed in full to the organization. Users who had selected the removed organization will be prompted to select a new nonprofit partner.
Listing on the Yala platform does not constitute an endorsement by Yala Media Group of any organization's specific programs, positions, leadership, or activities beyond their status as a verified 501(c)(3) organization serving Muslim or Islamic communities.
